Sixty something years ago, Alan Boyes learned to sail in a home-made pram on the Barrington River in Rhode Island. In later years he raced beetle cat's on Narragansett Bay where he developed his passion for classic small boats. Currently Alan divides his time between living on his 32' steel cutter in South Portland and his home and small boat restoration shop on Barter's Island, Maine.
